This morning I woke up feeling proud of myself that it was only 9.46am, but that happiness died off within seconds as I realised that Daylight Savings had kicked in. I’m thankful for the extra hour today, but I’m still pretty pissed because:

1. The sun sets at 5 now—as if getting dark at 6 wasn’t bad enough?!?!

2. Honestly that sole reason is enough to keep me pretty pissed lol.

Ok end rant. I suppose I should then wake up earlier in order to catch daylight…dear body will you please do this for me? On a brighter note, life’s been pretty sweet lately:

– School’s manageable! I’m lagging behind some lectures but I’m still surviving, still somewhat motivated
– Having fun with people I hang out with
– Sent off BlackRock app this weekend—crossing my fingers!
– Feel myself getting fitter with more trainings and a #getfitordiecryin buddy
– Having #breakfasteverydamnday, no lies man I just don’t Instagram them because I cannot wake up early enough to make them look nice, and also because I am not very creative and eat similar stuff…
– Learning driving—I hope to get my license by Spring! Hehehe
– Trying all these fun, new recipes, buying health food from the organic store, shopping at the butcher, making homemade pesto, milkshakes etc hehe it’s amazing to have housemates with similar tastebuds
– Cooking communal dinners once/twice a week. Claire & I cook while the boys take turns to wash, how convenient & PERFECT?! We get all the fun from cooking and they get to eat yummy food at the attractive, unbeatable price of cleaning up wahaha

Super looking forward to the coming week because Sain’s delivery is coming tomorrow with shitload of DRINKS & MIXERS (Hendrick’s, Belvoir, Pimms, Passionfruit cider AND MOAR), because CHVRCHES, because LONDON, because HALLOWEEN, because XR & I ARE HOSTING OUR FIRST GUESTS (4 of them—OMG!), because NOTTS WINTER GAMES…NOTT lol idc coz I’m not involved this year

What’s left to do:

– Get Christmas plans all settled
– Send off more applications
– Buy a camera maybe…

So yeah my week/end’s been pretty swell, and I’m super looking forward to the week ahead, hectic as it may be! How’s your weekend? x

Not sure what to blog about but really wanted to share this song 1998 by Chet Faker so I thought I could do a list of things that made me happy this week ^_^

Firstly, Chet Faker. Found out about him on Laneway 2015’s lineup and I haven’t been able to stop listening the past week! Super chill, makes me wanna stay in my room all day and zone out lelz

TV Show: Parks & Rec. Too adorable!!! So much love for all of them ❤

Burning: Capri Blue’s Volcano / Jo Malone’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt

Volcano’s sweet, fruity while Wood Sage & Sea Salt’s herbaceous, grassy … kind of clean-ish, with a tinge of sweetness. Love them both ALOT. Xr isn’t a huge fan on WS&SS though so I burn it when I’ll be home mostly alone, which makes my alone time so bleeding amazing. Even cleaning the room was enjoyable today HAHA. Good scents have such a huge effect on me!

Ok that is all hehe it’s Friday and I’m looking forward to a good, restful weekend. Have an amazing one whoever’s reading this!

I’m back home hehehe my last post saw me whining about exams, and saying I’d write again after my papers. It’s been a month and I haven’t updated even though I really should have because I’ve had so much time in Nottingham heehee whoopsies.

Sooo after exams, I spent two weeks between Notts and York before flying home to Sunny Singapore. Went to York for 2 days, it was amazing. It’s so rich in history, they had a frickin city wall. Apparently it’s from medieval times?! Food was bleeding good too, huge shoutout to Amadea for hosting me and bringing me/us around~ ^_^ I loved every minute spent there, would definitely return.

During the two weeks in Notts, Xr and I hosted our third guest—Xian Jie. He was a pleasant guest. Went for No Tomorrow, watched a bit of football, Coco Tang some nights, and hmm what else…oh I remember cooking meals for them and watching a lot of Mad Men while they were DOTA-ing days and nights away, ha. Hwach Boiz will always be Hwach Boiz.

UPDATE 5 AUG — Oh boy it’s been a month since I saved the draft LOL fek. Cannot even remember what I wanted to write about.

Let’s start by logging what I’ve accomplished this s l o w summer:

1. Caught up with Mad Men—finally. Can’t believe there are only 7 episodes til it’s over for good. Been having Mad Men withdrawal a bit the past few weeks

2. Spent lots—I mean LOTS—of time with people I love, especially myself lelz, doing things I couldn’t be happier doing. So far being funemployed’s pree good! But I pray next year I won’t have this luxury anymore plspls I really need something productive to do! I’m starting early to increase my chances. Like now. Been listing down Internship opportunities and working on apps, what’s left is just completing them, crossing my fingers real hard and firing them off.

3. GSS *u*

4. Caféhopped! Ate too many waffles, drank too many cups of coffee. Happy belly.

5. Zenning and sweating my bum off at Yoga Movement. I CAN DO A CROW NOW! Just a little but still! I remember trying it the first few times and never being able to get both feet up at the same time, and now I can hold like ~2sec. Teehee!

6. Experienced first—hopefully last—stomach flu ha. Thank goodness it’s over! Just had chicken rice today nomnom

7. Celebrated lots of birthdays, mostly twenty-firsts. Happy to be put in their lives.

8. Pinned rooms, bathrooms, furniture etc. So inspired! Honestly very stoked to move in to our new place! Staying with XR (ofc!), Claire and Yilei. Happy living in a house with a proper oven and bathtub days ahead :’)

I’ve been really happy and optimistic this summer, super thankful for everything and everyone I have, and especially grateful to my parents for supporting this bum of a daughter /sheepish/. Several things I’m looking forward to:

1. BKK getaway!

2. Penang food trail

3. More yoga and precious time spent with loved ones.

Okie that’s about it for an update, teehee. Stay gold x

Saw this music video on Facebook two minutes ago. Super duper uber catchy song by Above & Beyond. Been looping a longer version of this ( this is the best I could find—the one I’ve been listening to is 6min. this is still better than the video though), Sunset (Jamie XX remix), Retrograde and Under Control while studying.

3 more days to the end of exams. Cannot wait!

Sorry I haven’t been posting anything ~*substantial*~…I can easily blame this on exams but we all know this ‘behaviour’ began way before exams started lol so it’s really because I am damn lazy v_v

I feel thankful for a lot of things. Think a reflective post is due soon, since year 1 is about to end. Wtf time flew by like crazy I can’t believe it! I’m almost no longer a fresher, definitely no more energy one would expect from a fresher frk. Even after sleeping 7 hrs after a night out I still feel so damn lethargic and bleeeaaarrrgh like everything around me is happening in slow-mo…

K procrasti-break is over, I should get back to work 😦

Oh boy I haven’t been here in a looong while! School, volleyball and my inefficiency are really getting in the way lol. So many things to do, such poor time-management. Much sad. Very fail

So I’m here now, finally, because I found out the National realised the official video for one of my favoritestevur songs by them–I Need My Girl. I was gonna share this song previously, but I couldn’t find a good video so I chose Fireproof instead, but anyhow it’s all working out great cuz INMG is more appropriate for Vday anyway! The video is waaay cool by the way, happy valentine’s friends (whom I know are likely to read this, love you ♡) and enjoy x

Yesterday and today:

– Gave Xianrong Braintree Socks
– Received a super cute apron ahaha OOTD up soon with the next recipe!
– Went for insanely drawn-out SingSoc AGM omg. Congrats Wanda on getting the WO post~
– Ring of fire at the JCR with most of the Stormborn gang, super funny ahaha
– Woke up late, went to school for a 2hr lecture
– Came back and had some lunch, prepared stuff for tonight’s special valentine’s dinner–Spicy Stir Fried Pork (Dwaejigogi-bokkeum) and Kimchi Stew (Kimchi Jigae)! ^_^
– Took a nap and here I am

Aaand it’s almost time to make dinner. Oh yes, another exciting thing on my agenda: house viewing! Crossing fingers that everything will go well~ Also, super looking forward to this weekend because LONDON, because HOLY (FIRE) SHIT IMMA SEE FOALS, because OMG ALL THE NOMS! Yippee!

Have a splendid weekend all ^_^

AH. Been far away for far too long…literally. I arrived at Nottingham two nights ago from my self-declared Chinese New Year holiday back in Singapore. Since my return, I have been so unproductive and I kind of hate myself for that. I missed last night’s volleyball training because I wasn’t feeling well enough, and earlier this evening’s Deutsch class because I overnapped -_- Really need to get my shit together!

I’m also failing at some of my resolutions lol–blog twice a week at least..? FAIL! But I’m going to try my best to keep up, where’s the fun in life if it’s always perfect and dandy right??

So, it’s the start of a new term and I am feeling pretty motivated. It’s always nice to get a fresh start–new modules, new lecturers, new routine. Sadly, this term is very exam-heavy, which is pretty bad news for me. I would really rather do courseworks…or generally have work that I’m forced to do, y’know? I guess this means that I have to be consistently self-motivated and work hard to keep my results up..!

Spring term is going to fly by so damn quickly, so many activities/things to celebrate and I can’t wait!!! Major events: valentines’ day, FOALS in London on vday weekend, Hui’s visit to notts, Kyungs in europe, [non-concrete plans to visit friends], [non-concrete plans to host friends], turning 21 o m f g, singapore day, spring week (?), easter break to denmark and the netherlands (?)…then it’s exams, and SUMMER. WOW. FUNMONTHFUNBUN.

Also, some exciting changes to the routine in my life:

1. Xianrong and I are swapping cooking chores

Last term, I cooked while he washed up. This term, it’s going to be the other way round! Truth be told, I’m quite sad coz I really had a lot of fun cooking. I actually really like cooking. You’d think that having to cook for another person would be tricky/stressful but because he’s so appreciative and not picky, it was really therapeutic. On days I don’t feel up for cooking or if I just want to have a simple, no-frills meal, he’s understanding and easygoing about that :’) so thankful ♡♡♡

On the other hand, I’m pretty picky (control freak) so…ahahaha this term is going to be tough for me. I foresee myself becoming a saint by the end of the term lol. But I guess I’ll still cook sometimes! Breakfast probably, on special occasions maybe, or when I’m alone in the room! In all honesty though, I’m really looking forward to see what he’ll be whipping up hehe. He cooked some meals when I was still having exams last month, and they’re pretty good! Nothing too fancy, just simple, tasty meals like fried butter chicken. It was great to have something different. I’m boring I always make the same old things! Speaking of unfancy meals…sometimes I feel a bit embarrassed to post recipes and stuff cuz they’re so damn simple and uncreative. I feel like I’m insulting people’s intelligence/capabilities by posting those things, but…idk. I like sharing them anyway. I guess I still will..! Easy, yummy dishes are useful especially for students! That said, I hope to experiment more and make exciting things.

2. All my lectures are two-hour lectures

Juzkillmeplz. Ok I take that back because it’s still CNY and it’s #taboo to say things like the second word I used. But seriously, wth guys. ALL lectures?!? This is going to be a snack-filled term.

3. Claire is moving to Broadgate Park (BGP)!

Instead of meeting at the bus stop to go to Jubilee campus, we will be walking to the bus stop together every morning. And walk back after school. Wah, this feels like primary school! Plus next (academic) year we are 99% going to live together HAHA #clingyaf. 99% because there’s a 1% chance the housing thing won’t work out…simply because it’s not settled yet. Also, with her moving in, most of the gang will be at BGP. Broadgate Park, is really ‘The Place To Be’ (this is their um tagline lol).

I think that’s about it. So exciting huh my life. Just a quick post to keep this space from being not alive (because CNY). Now if it has bored you to tears, here’s something that I hope will act like a green tea scented tissue (the best?!). A song I really like by The National–Fireproof. Enjoy!

I will be blogging about my trip back home, and possibly another recipe, at the end of this week!

HOLA. Things have been pretty boring, sigh and my #100happydays challenge is such an epic fail lol. I don’t know if I should stop posting just because I haven’t been keeping to it (100 consecutive days …), I really want to keep going though. Having little lapses is better than giving up completely right??? Or am I missing the point by not sticking to it. Hmm. I think I’ll try to keep to it–at least some days, days I’m not overwhelmed by /life/ (in a negative sense…ohnoes what am I doing) it’ll remind me to be appreciative and see the ~*beauuuty*~ in things.

Anyway, I’m here because I had a paper today, and the evening after a paper is always LEPAK time. So so glad the Law paper is over and done with, I don’t think I did too good cuz I couldn’t remember a few of the cases but there’s nothing I can do so forget it. Gosh I hate that it’s 2248 already, my day is ending. Tomorrow’s gonna be a day of hardcore studying for Accounting–another one I’m not looking forward to oh goodness me. But at least I will be going home the day after! SO EXCITED ^_^

As you can see from my title, imma be sharing the recipe for something I had for breakfast last week.

IMG_0736^ TADAH. About the corners, I took the picture with Instagram in mind so I didn’t really bother making sure the edges were clean…whoopsie

Made this for breakfast/brunch before one of Xr’s papers. I’ve been wanting to make this for a long time, and I finally had the chance to because I had bread but not ham, which meant that I couldn’t make cheesy ham brioche rolls. Also, the bananas I got the week before were ripening up real nice! P.s. Bananas are one of my favourite fruits (someone plz help me w grammar …). I remember having had 5 for breakfast at some adventure camp when I was in Primary school. The end. Just kidding. More about this darling of a breakfast I had, including a soliloquy about the sugar I used, under the cut!
